Oh, how long years last! They just go and they go, and every day there has to be a bus crash. Tulsa! Norwalk! Phoenix! Buses crashing everywhere, in new ways every day. Can a bus crash the same way twice? Of course not! Can a journalist describe two bus crashes the same way? Yes! Is the page sufficient to the world? Is the seatbelt sufficient to the passenger? Is the flame retardant sufficient to the flames? Do sharp rocks at the bottom of cliffs make crashes worse? YES, NO, MAYBE SO!!! How many people have died in bus crashes this year? Thirty million? Probably, but nobody’s counting anymore. Oh no. The word is insufficient to the world, and numbers are insufficient too. That’s one thing I’ve learned today.
