The Series of Unfortunate Catastrophes were negative for many things. Human beings took a beating. House cats have become extinct. But if you were a coyote or mountain lion or a blue-winged teal, you wouldn’t think of the events that happened as unfortunate at all. For nature, it’s been a windfall. So many obnoxious humans obliterated all at once—no more road building—hardly any traffic. For them, this whole scenario spells OPPORTUNITY.
